The Samsung Galaxy S26 series has been a rumour mill favourite as of late. Now, a new report suggests that the South Korean giant is looking to equip its upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 series devices with the Exynos 2600 SoC.
As per New Daily, a South Korean tech publication, Samsung Electronics has started the mass production of its upcoming top-of-the-line Exynos 2600 mobile chipset. Built on the '2nm' Samsung Foundry, the Exynos 2600 will mark the company's return to its Galaxy S lineup of devices.
This is because back in 2024, Samsung was almost ready to bring the 3nm Exynos 2500 chipset to the market and subsequently would have debuted the device with the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. However, due to a mass-production yield problem with the 3nm node, the Exynos 2500 was scrapped at the last minute.

So, with the Exynos 2600, Samsung's foundry will be tested. And to ensure that the yield rate is above 50% without any substantial performance degradation, Samsung Foundry and Samsung LSI have apparently joined hands in the mass-production process. For those unaware, Samsung's LSI division looks after the chip design process, whereas the Foundry unit oversees the chip fabrication and manufacturing process.
As of now, Samsung is making good progress on the Exynos 2600 and from the looks of it, can enter full-scale production starting 2026. And this is particularly important since every flagship-grade mobile SoCs, from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite to the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+, all use TSMC's 3nm fabrication process.
And with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC just around the corner, success at the 2nm fabrication node will not only mean a substantial breakthrough for Samsung but can also mean wider adoption. It all comes down to how Exynos 2600 overcomes the performance, efficiency, and heating problems seen in 3nm chips.
With that said, we will know more about the upcoming Samsung SoC, as the Galaxy S26 prototypes enter the testing and benchmarking phase. So, stay tuned!
