Samsung appears set to give its next Fan Edition smartphone, the Galaxy S25 FE, a significant display upgrade. This could bring the next iteration closer to the brand's flagship Galaxy S25 series.
According to a new report from ZDNet Korea, the upcoming phone might swap the current rigid OLED screen (as seen on the Galaxy S24 FE and prior) for a flexible OLED panel. This will undoubtedly make the phone look more modern than its predecessor which had thicker, asymmetrical bezels. However, this change isn't just about the looks.
Moving to a flexible OLED panel will allow Samsung to make the Galaxy S25 FE noticeably slimmer than its predecessor. As per the latest leak, the device could shed around 0.6 mm in thickness, going from 8 mm to just 7.4 mm. This would make the S25 FE the thinnest device in the FE lineup yet. This also falls in line with the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE design renders that leaked a while back.

We also get to know that the flexible OLED panel might be produced by Samsung Display, using a plastic substrate instead of glass. This, if true, will not just allow the phone to flaunt a slimmer design but might also offer better durability and better viewing angles.
Samsung Display is reportedly planning to start mass production of the new display panels in the coming months, with the Galaxy S25 FE potentially launching later this year.
The brand hasn’t confirmed this yet, but the upgrade could help the Fan Edition stand out against rivals and the brand's own A-series, which has caught up in features lately.
However, the display size is expected to not change at 6.67-inch. Additionally, the panel is also expected to feature the same 120 Hz refresh rate and 1,900 nits or slightly more peak brightness. Meanwhile, under the hood, the phone might be powered by the Exynos 2400e chipset and offer up to 12 GB of RAM.
