Recently, Samsung officially teased the Galaxy S26 series to arrive with AI-focused camera experience. However, it seems like Samsung's upcoming flagship lineup could bring meaningful camera refinements too, as a new leak suggests a revamped noise reduction algorithm to improve image quality.

Galaxy S26 series to get enhanced noise reduction algorithm

According to reliable tipster Ice Universe, Samsung has adopted a new noise reduction algorithm for the Galaxy S26 lineup. The leaker describes it as the "best Galaxy flagship ever," specifically highlighting improvements in how the camera better handles skies and other uniform backgrounds.

In previous Samsung phones like the Galaxy S25, users have occasionally noticed visible "fault lines" or banding in photos and videos. These artefacts can disrupt smooth gradients and cause issues, but the tipster suggests those issues have now disappeared.

Galaxy S26 24 MP mode to retain excellent clarity

Additionally, the tipster also mentions that when shooting in 24 MP mode, the Galaxy S26 will deliver very high resolution with strong clarity even when images are magnified. Looks like Samsung is working to refine pixel-binning and detail-preservation to take the fight straight to the best camera phones out there.

If accurate, the Galaxy S26 noise reduction algorithm and other refinements could make the upcoming lineup a strong contender for top-tier camera enthusiasts. Thanks to previous reports, we also know that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature a wider aperture for better low-light photography.

It makes sense, especially since the Galaxy S26 series is said to arrive with the same cameras, so Samsung will understandably need to take their optimisation game to the next level for it to make sense.
