The Samsung Galaxy S26 series is shaping up to be an interesting lineup. From last-minute device discontinuation to product name confusion, the leaks have been all over the place. Now, new information suggests that the standard Galaxy S26 is gaining some dimension changes.
Instead of getting slimmer, the Galaxy S26 is getting thicker
As per tech publication Android Headlines, the current Galaxy S26 prototype is 7.24mm thick compared to the 6.96mm thickness of the Galaxy S25. The upcoming phone will also be slightly taller and wider, at 149.5mm and 71.6mm, respectively. Even the rear camera bump is reportedly growing thicker to 10.44mm.

Now, while the exact reason for this change is not confirmed yet, we believe that this could mean an ever-so-slight increase in the battery capacity and the screen size on the Galaxy S26. The current Galaxy S25 features a 6.2-inch display and a 4,000mAh battery.
So, the upcoming phone could very well stretch the screen to 6.3 inches and include a bigger 4,300mAh cell within. This falls in line with a recent Samsung Galaxy S26 specs leak, which also mentioned that there are camera upgrades planned for the standard model as well.

Early reports hint at a triple camera setup with a 50 MP Samsung ISOCELL S5KGNG main camera, a 12 MP Sony IMX564 ultra-wide angle lens and a 12 MP Samsung ISOCELL S5K3LD telephoto camera. While the details still remain unconfirmed, it corroborates Daniel Araujo, VP of Samsung’s Mobile Experience Division's statement that the Galaxy S26 series is gaining new camera upgrades.
Aside from that, no other detail has been shared at the time of wiring. The processor choice seems obvious with the Exynos 2600 and it will also be able to make use of Samsung's Advanced Professional Video codec.
That said, with the Galaxy S26 launch delayed till February, it is going to be some time before the entire lineup goes official. This time, Samsung is resorting to its old ways with the Galaxy S26, S26+ and the Galaxy S26 Ultra. So, it will be interesting to see what the South Korean consumer brand has in store for the fans.
