Samsung will reportedly introduce the Galaxy S26 series devices in early January 2026. While we are still a few months away from the official unveiling, leaks and rumours have already started pouring in. This time around, the latest development hints at extremely narrow bezels for the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Credible leaker Ice Universe took to X to post an interesting update regarding the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. According to him, Samsung is reportedly looking to equip the Galaxy S26 Ultra with a 6.89-inch screen, that will bring the display bezel thickness to 1.15 mm.
The screen size of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has increased to 6.89 inches, while the S25 Ultra has a 6.86-inch display—only 0.03 inches larger. But what does this actually mean?

Assuming the body width remains unchanged at 77.6mm, calculations show that the S26 Ultra's bezels…
For context, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra launched with a 6.86-inch display and its bezels measured 1.32 mm. It was already thin at the time of launch and now it seems like Samsung is going all in on "thinness," even with display bezels.
Although nothing is confirmed as if yet and the bezel calculation is also part of the leaker's assumption, if true, this move will make sense. This is because thinner bezels on smartphones are appealing and gives the device a premium and modern outlook. So, to convey that same feeling and emotion with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Samsung might just settle for 1.15 mm bezels for the smartphone.

Besides, this perception might be an important factor for Samsung to sell the Galaxy S26 Ultra since an earlier leak hinted at a 5,000mAh battery for it. It will also reportedly stick to 45W wired fast charging. This is the same battery capacity and charging speed as that of the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
It will also most likely feature Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset and will offer up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.
With that said, the Samsung Galaxy S26 series is expected to launch early next year, potentially in January 2026. There is even the likelihood that Samsung might ditch the "Plus" variant and replace it with the "Edge" model.
We expect to see more details surface in the coming days and months leading up to the launch. So, stay tuned.
