Samsung could finally address one of the biggest complaints surrounding its foldable phones. A new leak suggests that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 may feature a significantly larger battery than its predecessor, potentially delivering a long-awaited boost to battery life.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 battery capacity leaked
According to a GalaxyClub report, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery, which would mark a notable upgrade over the 4,400mAh battery found in the Galaxy Z Fold 7. If the leak proves accurate, this would represent roughly a 13% increase in capacity, making it the largest battery ever used in Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold lineup.
As with previous foldable phones from Samsung, the battery is likely to be split into two cells to accommodate the folding design. The latest leak indicates that the combined capacity will be marketed as 5,000mAh, although the rated capacity could be slightly lower due to standard battery labelling practices.

The potential upgrade is particularly significant because battery capacity has remained relatively conservative across previous Galaxy Z Folds.
While the newest leak focuses primarily on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 battery capacity, earlier reports suggest the foldable could also bring refinements to the display and overall hardware. Samsung is expected to unveil the foldable alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 8 during its usual summer launch window, which typically takes place around July each year.
As with all early leaks, the final Galaxy Z Fold 8 specifications can always change before it launches. However, if this battery upgrade turns out to be true, the Z Fold 8 could deliver one of the most meaningful improvements to Samsung's book-style foldable lineup.
Besides, reports also suggest the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could arrive with a creaseless display tech. Additionally, as per leaks, both the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 could be the thinnest foldables yet from the brand.
