With the arrival of the flagship Vivo X500 and X500 Pro series, the brand can now redirect its focus toward its Ultra flagship. Newly surfaced information drops crumbs about the Vivo X500 Ultra potential launch timeline, which could be set for early 2027.
Renowned tipster Digital Chat Station has shared on Weibo that the Vivo X500 Ultra is slated for release between March and April 2027. Additionally, he also noted that the smartphone's core hardware configuration has already been finalised.
Interestingly, the tipster also emphasises the smartphone's extreme focus on photography. According to DCS, there will only be two phones that will "define the flagship camera category", and the Vivo X500 Ultra is positioned to be one of them.
While details about Vivo X500 Ultra's cameras and other specifications are scarce, this suggests the phone could boast the best camera setup in any of Vivo's previous Ultra flagships yet.
Part of the reason can already be deduced from the camera improvements Vivo introduced with the Vivo X500 Pro series. One was a primary LOFIC sensor, boasting 17 stops of dynamic range and CIPA 7.0 stabilisation for great shots in challenging lighting conditions.
Speaking of which, previous Vivo X500 Ultra camera leaks point toward a 200 MP 1/1.2" Periscope Telephoto snapper. Also, it's almost certain the Vivo X500 Ultra could arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset (or Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6), which will be revealed at the Snapdragon Summit 2026 today.
With over six months to go for the Vivo X500 Ultra reveal, more information about the flagship should surface as we inch closer to launch, so stay tuned.
