With the launch of the Pixel 10 series, Google also announced a myriad of new AI features that could add great value to the Pixel series. From teaching you how to take photos to translating voice calls in real-time and suggesting your next action, here are the five AI features that I can't wait to use on the Google Pixel 10.
1
Magic Cue
1
AI in smartphones has been more about gimmicky "use once, forget later" features than actually contributing to the user experience. As we move toward the agentic era, Google wants to start with something that can learn your moves and understand you better. That's where Magic Cue on Pixel 10 comes into the picture.

Although restricted to calls at the moment, Magic cues' sole job is to understand the context and show you the information you need on cards while on a call. No more switching apps and asking the other party to hold while you struggle to find that next trip information or confirmation code.
The best part is that Google claims all the data handling happens on-device thanks to Gemini Nano. If you're still unsure, you can even control what data it has access to. What's better is unlike Google's typical move to restrict these features to the US, Magic Cue and Voice Translation are coming to India soon!

Magic Cue will also be a part of Daily Hub, a feature that's similar to Samsung's Now Brief. It appears in the At a Glance widget to show you your daily brief. All in all, Magic Cue could make my life easier, and I can't wait for it to work across all apps in the future.
2
Voice Translation
2
When Google said Hindi is one of the supported languages when showcasing Pixel's new Voice Translate feature, I instantly knew it was coming to India. As the name suggests, Voice Translate translates your and the recipient's language in real time and makes it sound like each speaker's voice. As someone trying to pick up Japanese, I can see myself using this on calls with language partners to get better at the language.

Google demoed it on stage with Jimmy Fallon on a one-on-one call with a Spanish speaker, and I was beyond surprised at how well it replicated the voices. The feature will work when translating to or from English with the following:
- Spanish
- German
- Japanese
- French
- Hindi
- Italian
- Portuguese
- Swedish
- Russian
- Indonesian

Camera Coach
3
Smartphones make it easier to snap quick pictures on the go, but when there's a tricky situation where you have a vision but can't seem to get your creative juices flowing, Camera Coach on Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro comes to the rescue. It uses AI to scan the scene you want to snap and gives you a series of potential shots that you can get.

Once you choose the kind of photo you want to take, Camera Coach will ask you to move around, adjust the device at different angles, tell you to ask the subject to look away or toward the camera or switch between different camera modes.
This way, you can click photos that are better looking, while simultaneously getting a better grasp of photography. While I'm no professional photographer, I could see my friends using the feature on my Pixel 10 to get lots of self-portraits.
4
Text-Based Photo Editing
4
Another feature I can’t wait to try on my Pixel 10 is conversational AI photo editing, something that feels like the fever dream of my 12-year-old self finally coming true. The tool did an incredible job when Google showcased it on stage during the Pixel 10 launch. It's a great feature to use and fix your photos when you snap a photo in a hurry and find out it's not Instagram-ready after coming home.

Tapping on the Edit button in Google Photos will give you a Help me edit option. Choosing the same will prompt you to enter how you would like to edit the photo. For example, you could ask the AI model to fix the flash of light in the background that's causing your photo to be overexposed in an area, and it will do it for you.
5
Pixel Journal app
5
No launch event is complete without firms copying at least one feature from their competitors, and the Pixel 10 now gets a Journal app just like the iPhone. Using the same, users can choose goals when setting up the app and get prompts on the things to Journal about. This should make it easier for me to keep tabs on my mental health and reflect on or maintain good habits, or record goals.

For those who don't know what a Journal app is used for, it helps you record daily reflections and track your goals, mental health or habits. It also keeps memory about photos and can act as an emotional outlet to vent and reflect on yourself. The Pixel Journal app could help you do all that while giving you AI-powered insights about your progress over time.
And those were all the AI features that I'm excited to try out on the Google Pixel 10. There are a few other non-AI additions like 100x Pro Res zoom, Daily Hub and a new Recorder feature that lets you create music by humming. It's worth noting that the Pro Res zoom is only available on the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL.
Besides AI features, Pixel 10 improves over the Pixel 9 with a new telephoto snapper and the improved Tensor G5. Lastly, the Pixel 10 series arrives in new colours like Indigo Blue, Frost and Limoncello.
The Pixel 10 and the Pixel 10 Pro go on sale starting August 28, 2025, while the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is running late by a month and is expected to arrive in October 2025. The phones run Android 16 out-of-the-box with Material 3 Expressive features, which add a fresh coat of paint to Android.
