In 2025, the mobile chip race among major players like Apple and MediaTek is heating up. While Apple released its A19 Pro chipset with the iPhone 17 series, MediaTek has now launched the Dimensity 9500, its flagship processor for Android phones. This year, the competition is closer than ever, as MediaTek has adopted Arm's latest C1 CPU and G1 Ultra GPU cores. With that in mind, let’s take a look at how the Dimensity 9500 stacks up against Apple’s A19 Pro in benchmark tests.
Dimensity 9500 vs A19 Pro: Geekbench Score
Geekbench 6 CPU | Dimensity 9500 (Official) | A19 Pro |
Single-core | 4,007 | 3,895 |
Multi-core | 11,217 | 9,746 |
During its launch event in China, MediaTek officially unveiled the Geekbench scores of the Dimensity 9500 chipset. In Geekbench 6.4, the Dimensity 9500 scored an impressive 4,007 points in single-core and 11,217 in multi-core. For comparison, Apple's A19 Pro, running on the iPhone 17 Pro Max, achieved 3,895 in single-core tasks and 9,746 in multi-core workloads.
Based on early Geekbench data, the Dimensity 9500 is 2.9% faster than the A19 Pro in single-core tasks, and in multi-core workloads, the Dimensity 9500 is 15.1% faster, thanks to the 8-core CPU setup. If we go by MediaTek's official numbers, it would mark the first time MediaTek has surpassed Apple in single-core CPU performance, which is truly commendable.
What makes this achievement even more impressive is that both chips operate at a similar peak CPU frequency (4.21GHz vs 4.26GHz). The credit largely goes to Arm for developing powerful new C1-series CPU cores, which are not just competitive, but also efficient.
That said, It’s important to note that these scores come directly from MediaTek, not from independent testing. We will be doing our own testing on the Dimensity 9500 so stay tuned with us.
Dimensity 9500 vs A19 Pro: Specs Comparison
Both the Dimensity 9500 and A19 Pro are manufactured on TSMC's improved 3nm (N3P) process node. The Dimensity 9500 features Arm's latest C1-series CPU cores (8-core) while Apple has packed its custom CPU cores (6-core). The peak frequency is also quite similar on both chipsets. The D9500 can reach up to 4.21GHz while the A19 Pro can go up to 4.26GHz.
