2025 gave us arguably some of the most heated processor battles with the likes of Qualcomm and MediaTek, while witnessing new competitors entering the "Ring" (pun-intended). Now, data from the popular benchmarking app AnTuTu gives us a good look at who's leading the processor race, and the results are very unsurprising.

Qualcomm continues to dominate the chipset race

According to AnTuTu's latest market snapshot for Q4 2025, Qualcomm continues to maintain a stranglehold on the market with a massive 71.2% market share. Qualcomm processors are effectively powering seven out of every ten Android phones in China, dominating across every price bracket.

MediaTek holds the second spot with a 27.4% market share and remains the king of the budget and mid-range segment. AnTuTu's data highlights that 9 out of 10 phones in the mid-range performance rankings for December 2025 feature MediaTek processors, all thanks to the 7000 and 8000 series, like the Dimensity 7400 and Dimensity 8400.

The biggest surprise, however, is the entry of Xiaomi into the processor rankings. With a 0.4% market share, Xiaomi has cracked the list thanks to its first self-developed XRING O1 processor. While it's only found in two smartphones – Xiaomi 15S Pro and Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra, it has gained enough traction to appear on the charts.

Samsung's Exynos lineup continues to slip as it currently has only 0.6% market share in China. If there were an AnTuTu report for the global smartphone scene, we wouldn't be surprised if Samsung took over MediaTek or sat just below it, given the popularity of its mid-range smartphones, which are usually powered by Exynos chipsets.

While the numbers may seem interesting, they represent Qualcomm's growing stronghold and monopoly in the smartphone processor business. In this case, MediaTek and the now emerging Xiaomi XRING O processors hold the key to balance out this equation. However, amidst the RAM crisis and growing component prices, it will be interesting to see if they indirectly affect the processor market.
