Apple's latest iPhone 17 Pro looks quite different from its predecessors with that new camera plateau and design. However, a new teardown video of the phone has now revealed that it's actually the most repairable Pro iPhone yet.
iPhone 17 Pro features a modular easy-to-repair internal design
In a detailed disassembly video, popular YouTuber JerryRigEverything showcased the phone's revamped internal layout to make repairs easier than ever before. Going by the teardown, Apple has made several key engineering changes on the inside.
For starters, the front and rear glass panels of the iPhone 17 Pro are held in place with screws instead of heavy adhesive, allowing both sides to be opened using the same bottom screw mounts. This modular design choice can reduce the risk of damage during screen and back glass replacements, which is undoubtedly one of the costliest repairs.

Apple has introduced a vapour chamber cooling system with its iPhone 17 series this year and it's seen to be neatly accommodated in the internal design. The battery also sits in a more accessible tray this time around and it's good to see those stubborn adhesive strips not being used here either.
That said, the iPhone 17 Pro teardown video also showcased how the USB-C port is still difficult to service, requiring display removal and over 20 screws to access.
While Apple hasn't officially emphasised these changes, the internal design evolution is certainly impressive and reflects the growing awareness of Right to Repair demands and upcoming EU regulations.
Overall, the iPhone 17 Pro seems to be quite a meaningful flagship which blends performance, premium design and easy repairability nicely.
