The iPhone Fold is Apple's most anticipated launch of 2026, marking the brand's first step into the foldable space. As expected, there is a lot of hype around the smartphone and while the Cupertino brand is yet to share some official details, leaks have already revealed a lot. The latest one hints at impressive thermal performance on the iPhone Fold.
iPhone Fold Could Bring Impressive Vapour Chamber Cooling
According to tipster Fixed Focus Digital, the upcoming iPhone Fold will bring vapour chamber cooling, similar to the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. It is said to bring "impressive VC cooling performance, demonstrating a significant investment in heat dissipation."

If true, this will mean Apple will use an aluminium mid-frame instead of the previously leaked glass mid-frame for the iPhone Fold. This will aid in better heat dissipation and will allow the smartphone to evenly disperse the heat instead of it getting concentrated near the processor and battery.
Moreover, by using liquid metal for the iPhone Fold hinge, Apple will not only minimise the crease in the design, but can also aid in the thermal management process of the smartphone. Design-wise we already know that the iPhone Fold will feature a wide passport-like form factor with dual cameras at the back and an iPad-like screen size when unfolded.

It is expected to feature a 7.6-inch inner display, a 5.49-inch outer panel and could be powered by the Apple A20 Pro chipset. The phone is also said to arrive with 12 GB of RAM, Apple C2 5G modem, Touch ID and a 5,400mAh battery.
That said, with the iPhone Fold case leaks already online, it is clear that the phone is launching this year itself. It is expected to be unveiled at Apple's September 202026 event, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. So, stay tuned.
