After confirming the Google I/O 2026 dates earlier, Google has now revealed the ful event schedule, offering a clearer picture of what's in store. The highly anticipated developer conference returns in May 2026, with the Google I/O 2026 schedule revealing the spotlight will shine on AI, Android 17 and more. As is tradition, the keynote-packed first day will be followed by more detailed developer-focused sessions and feature deep dives on day two.
Google I/O 2026 Schedule: Key Sessions and Announcements
The official Google Developers X account announced that Google I/O 2026 will kick off with the main Google Keynote speech on May 19, 2026, at 10:00 AM PT (or 10:30 PM IST). The developer-focused event will follow at 1:30 PM PT (or 3:00 AM IST) and both keynotes will be livestreamed globally.

Unsurprisingly, the list of sessions reveals that AI will take centre stage both in the usual and developer keynotes. Google has scheduled a block of highly anticipated sessions, including one titled "What's new in Google AI."
According to the official descriptions, these sessions will explore Google's end-to-end AI stack and the capabilities of their latest models, which could be Gemma 4. Besides, there will also be a session showcasing how to use tools like Google AI Studio and Antigravity to get the most out of the new models.
Interestingly, Google is dedicating 45 minutes to talk about "What's new in Android", which will seemingly be about the latest Android 17. During this, the brand plans to highlight Android 17 features, including performance upgrades, new capabilities for media and camera apps, as well as functionality for large-screen devices.

This suggests that, unlike last year, when there was a dedicated Android show for Android 16, Google plans to reveal everything at its main event.
Interestingly, the schedule also hints at a new "Adaptive Everywhere" approach with Android 17. This could mean that Google may explain the new ecosystem addition in more detail, and how it allows users to move between their gadgets easily.
Surprisingly, there's no word on a dedicated Android XR session. Considering Google is already working on XR glasses with Android XR, it's possible that the brand may talk about it in the Android section.
With the event all set for May 19, 2026, more concrete details about its contents should be revealed as we inch closer to the livestream, so stay tuned.
