Google has released the Android 17 stable update and alongside that, has also shipped the June 2026 edition of Pixel Drop. While most of the new additions are aimed at enhancing the core Pixel experience, a new Emergency Sharing feature for Pixel Watches converts them into an SOS beacon during emergencies.
Pixel Watches Gets Enhanced Safety with "Emergency Sharing" Feature
Google has revealed that Pixel Watches will soon gain a new Emergency Sharing feature, which is designed to help users share details and contact emergency services during any incident.

It works with Pixel’s core incident detection feature and is similar to the existing Emergency Contacts and Fall Detection features. They include Car Crash Detection, Fall Detection and Loss of Pulse Detection.
In case of an emergency, Pixel Watches with Emergency Sharing enabled will be able to send location and other info to trusted contacts as well as dial first responders and share location with them. Users will be able to customise their contact options and can keep them separate based on the type of emergency.
For instance, contacts notified during a car crash could be different from the ones sent an SOS beacon during a loss of pulse incident. With Emergency Sharing, Google is expanding its safety ecosystem beyond smartphones. Emergency Sharing will be available from the Pixel Watch 2 to the Pixel Watch 4. Only Loss of Pulse Detection will remain exclusive to Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Watch 4.
