Google is all set to launch the Pixel 11 series in 2026 at its summer Pixel event later this year. While fans are hoping to hear new scoop regarding the upcoming phones, a new leak has now given us key information regarding the Tensor G7 processor, expected to launch with the Pixel 12 lineup in 2027.
Tensor G7 Reportedly Codenamed "LaJolla"
Well known leaker MysticLeaks has posted a new Telegram message with what appears to be an internal code string for the Tensor G7 chipset. It is alleged to be internally called LaJolla and will debut with the Pixel 12 lineup in 2027.

If true, this will fall in line with Google's habit of using American cities as Tensor codenames. For context, the Tensor G5 chipset was codenamed Laguna and the upcoming Tensor G6 is codenamed Malibu. This also means that even though Google is prepping the Pixel 11 series for launch in 2026, the Pixel 12 lineup is already in active development.
As for details about the Tensor G7, there are none, considering the fact it has surfaced in the rumour mill for the first time and that too almost a year and a half early. However, based on the current Tensor G6 leaks, it will be fair to assume a 2nm fabrication process for the Tensor G7.
We do not expect it to go head-to-head with Qualcomm and MediaTek in terms of performance, but being an in-house SoC, it could bring upgraded NPU and TPU capabilities. This will help the Pixel 12 perform on-device AI tasks faster and also will aid in computational photography.
However, at the time of writing, these are mere speculations and should be taken with a pinch of salt. While fans are locked in on the Pixel 11, we might hear more about the 2027 Pixel phones in the coming months.
