Following weeks of rumours, Huawei has officially marked its calendars for Pura 90 Pro series launch. The series is expected to consist of the Pura 90 Pro and Pura 90 Pro Max, with the brand now confirming the phones to arrive in an interesting gradient colourway. Subsequently, it appears that Huawei will be dropping the Ultra moniker from the lineup entirely.
Huawei Pura 90 Pro Series Could Get a Splash of Colours
After confirming the Pura 90 Pro launch date in China for April 20, 2026, the official Huawei Weibo account shared a video revealing the design of its upcoming Pura 90 Pro series. From the looks of it, while the phones retain the rounded triangular camera module and flat edges of the last generation, Huawei is taking a massive leap with its colour schemes.

The official teaser reveals the return to the highly popular gradient finishes that originally put phones such as the Huawei P20 Pro and P30 on the map. Outside of the black and white colourways, there will be a colour variant with an orange-to-black gradient finish. Huawei is calling this the Orange Sea colour option.
On the inside, the Huawei Pura 90 Pro and 90 Pro Max are expected to be powered by Kirin 9030 or Kirin 9030 Pro processors, coupled with 16 GB RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The phones could run the new HarmonyOS 6.1 software out of the box and bring along the brand's proprietary HyperSpace Memory technology, which it recently announced with the Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max.
For those unaware, it works like Honor's Smart RAM feature and lets phones intelligently utilise a part of internal storage as additional virtual RAM when needed.

While there's not enough information about the camera department of the Huawei Pura 90 Pro lineup, rumours suggest a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens with the brand's in-house XMAGE imaging engine.
With the launch just around the corner, more concrete details regarding the Huawei Pura 90 Pro and Pura 90 Pro Max are expected to surface soon, so stay tuned.
