The Motorola Edge 70 Max India launch was officially teased recently, but before the brand could confirm any of the phone's specifications, Google seems to have done it for them. A Google Search preview for the smartphone's Flipkart microsite has surfaced, revealing several key specifications that have yet to appear on it.
Motorola Edge 70 Max Display, Processor and Charging Details Revealed
The preview was first spotted by tipster MotoFanboy on X, and we have also confirmed it on our end. Based on that, the Motorola Edge 70 Max is confirmed to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, which is the same processor that the Motorola Signature launched with. Since the "Edge" lineup sits below the "Signature" portfolio, the Edge 70 Max could become one of the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 phones in India.
Interestingly, unlike the Motorola Signature, which launched with a 1.5K display, the Edge 70 Max is confirmed to feature a Quad HD+ panel (2K resolution). While the rest of the display specs are still unknown, we believe the phone will also feature a fast 165 Hz refresh rate.
However, the biggest highlight is the addition of Qi2 magnetic wireless charging support to the smartphone. The Motorola Edge 70 Max is going to offer 90W fast USB-C charging as well as 25W Qi2 wireless charging. It appears to be based on WPC's 25W Qi 2.2 standard since the first-gen Qi2 only allowed 15W wireless charging support.
This will make the Edge 70 Max join a very limited list of Android phones that natively support magnetic wireless charging, without needing any case or third-party accessories to enable it. Some examples of this are the Google Pixel 10 and the HMD Skyline.
Rest, while the Google Search preview didn't reveal any other details, early leaks have hinted at a 50 MP Sony LYT main camera for the smartphone, along with MIL-STD-810H certification and IP68 + IP69 ratings. The phone is tipped to be available in Onyx Black, Sage Green and Glacier Blue colourways.
That said, we still don't know when the Motorola Edge 70 Max will launch in India. The brand has not shared the exact launch date yet. However, with teasers and spec reveals underway, we should know more shortly. So, stay tuned.
