Motorola has officially teased the Edge 70 Max for India launch as a dedicated webpage for the phone is now live on Flipkart. The e-commerce platform will exclusively sell the phone in India and the website's URL (motorola-edge-70-max-coming-soon-store) confirms the Motorola Edge 70 Max name. This will be the fourth phone in the Edge 70 lineup to arrive in India, after the Motorola Edge 70 Pro, Edge 70 Fusion and Edge 70.

Motorola Edge 70 Max Likely Packs the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5

While Motorola has not named the chipset yet, the Flipkart teaser has dropped a big hint. The webpage says the Motorola Edge 70 Max is "built to dominate" with a 46% improved NPU performance for AI and that figure matches Qualcomm's official marketing claim for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset.

Qualcomm says the revamped Hexagon NPU on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 delivers 46% faster AI performance over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

The chipset also packs two Oryon v3 prime cores clocked at 3.8GHz and six Oryon v3 cores clocked at 3.32GHz. While it sits below the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, it offers better thermal stability under sustained load.

Apart from that, the teaser matches perfectly with earlier leaks, which claimed that the Motorola Edge 70 Max will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. If true, this would make the Edge 70 Max one of the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 phones in India, given that the Edge series is priced aggressively.

Next, the webpage teases magnetic wireless charging with the tagline "snap with max magnetic power". This again matches the Edge 70 Max's recent WPC certification, which revealed support for the Qi 2.2.1 standard with the MPP25 power profile. In simple terms, the phone will support up to 25W wireless charging with built-in magnets, similar to Apple's MagSafe.

Note that most Android phones like the Galaxy S26 series are only "Qi2 Ready" and require a magnetic case. So the Motorola Edge 70 Max will join a very small club of Android phones with native magnets along with the Google Pixel 10 series and HMD Skyline.

Besides that, earlier leaks suggest that the Motorola Edge 70 Max will feature a 50MP Sony LYTIA primary camera with OIS and a MIL-STD-810H-certification. It will be available in three colours including Onyx Black, Sage Green and Glacier Blue.

The phone was also recently spotted on the BIS certification platform with the model number XT2611. It's reported to be a rebranded version of the Lenovo Legion Y70, which was exclusively launched in China.

By the way, Motorola has not announced the Edge 70 Max launch date for India yet and the webpage simply asks buyers to "stay tuned" for more information. That said, with the Flipkart teaser now revealed, expect the brand to announce the launch date and key specifications in the coming days.
