The Nothing Ear 3a has launched as the brand's latest pair of wireless earbuds, alongside the Nothing Phone 4b at a launch event held today, on July 7, 2026. The earbuds arrive as a successor to the 2024 Nothing Ear a, keeping the same mid-range positioning while introducing a handful of design and hardware tweaks.
Nothing Ear 3a Design
The Nothing Ear 3a sticks closely to the design language of the brand's audio lineup, with a partially transparent shell that shows off the earbuds inside.
Talking about the earbuds, they also carry over the same basic shape as the Ear a, but the charging case has been reworked into a smaller, more rounded footprint.
Nothing is offering the Ear 3a in four colourways, namely, black, white, yellow and an all-new vibrant pink. The yellow shade returns as a callback to the Ear a's hero colourway.

Nothing Ear 3a Audio Snapshot and Call Recording Feature
One of the biggest additions to the Nothing Ear 3a is the new Audio Snapshot feature. It allows users to save short audio clips directly from the earbuds by pinching the stem. The feature is meant to quickly capture lectures, conversations, or voice notes and is supported by 32 MP onboard storage, split equally between the two earbuds.
Once the earbuds reconnect to the Nothing X app, recordings are automatically synced, where they can be replayed, trimmed, transcribed, deleted or even converted into shareable quote cards.
Beyond quick voice captures, the Nothing Ear 3a can also record phone calls directly from the earbuds, with recordings lasting for around two hours before requiring a sync. Most importantly, Nothing says all participants are notified whenever call recording is active.
Nothing is also offering multiple transcription options, with two on-device modes being available free of charge. However, those looking for advanced features like AI-generated summaries, speaker recognition and more can opt for a cloud-powered Pro mode. But buyers receive only three months of the Pro tier, with a monthly limit of 120 minutes, after which a paid subscription will be required.

According to Nothing, the recordings remain stored locally by default, with cloud processing only coming into play when transcription or summarisation features are triggered.
Nothing Ear 3a Specifications
Under the hood, Nothing has bumped up the driver size to 12mm, a modest step up from the 11mm units in the Ear a. The driver uses a PMI + TPU diaphragm, with Nothing handling the sound tuning in-house, and the frequency response is rated at 20 Hz to 40,000 Hz. It supports LDAC Hi-Res Wireless certification alongside SBC and AAC, and includes software features like Custom EQ with profile sharing, an Advanced EQ mode and Spatial Audio.

For noise cancellation, Nothing has gone with an adaptive ANC of up to 45 dB, covering a frequency range of 40 Hz to 5000 Hz. This is backed by a six-microphone setup (three on each earbud), paired with an ENC algorithm for clearer calls. There's also a Transparency Mode for ambient awareness.
Battery life is another highlight of the Nothing Ear 3a, with each earbud packing a 55mAh battery and the charging case housing a 500mAh unit. Over AAC and with ANC off, the earbuds last up to 10 hours on a single full charge and up to 42 hours with the charging case. Meanwhile, with the ANC turned on, the earbuds can last up to 6 hours and 25 hours, respectively.

Connectivity is handled via Bluetooth 6.0 with a 15-metre range. There's also dual-device connection support, alongside Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair compatibility and a Low Lag mode for reduced latency. The earbuds work with Android 8.0 and above, as well as iOS 13 and above phones.
Rounding things out, the Nothing Ear 3a carries an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance across both the earbuds and the case. There are also customisable touch controls and Find My Earbuds support.
Nothing Ear 3a Price and Availability
The Nothing Ear 3a is priced at 99 euros (roughly Rs 10,500), which mirrors the launch price of the original Nothing Ear a. The earbuds will be available to purchase starting today via Nothing.tech and partner retail stores. However, the earbuds will not be up for grabs in India for now.
