The Nothing Phone (3) is all set to launch in India and globally on July 1, 2025. The brand has been teasing bits and pieces of the smartphone. And today, Nothing CEO, Carl Pei has hinted a feature that might be coming to the Glyph Matrix.
Pei has shared an X post, containing a pixelated monochromatic image of himself with the title "Me through Glyph Mirror. What do y'all think". He also updated his X profile picture with the same pixelated image, and as expected, the trend caught up with multiple people taking to X to post their pixelated images as well.

Users can get one for themselves by visiting the Glyph Mirror page on the Nothing website. From here, users will be able to use their device camera (smartphone, tablet or PC) to click an image and let the website generate a pixelated image.
Once generated, they can click on Save & Share to get their 8-bit-styled black and white selfie. The page allows users to increase or decrease the contrast of the image using a built-in slider, which, by default, is set to 50%.
Beebom Gadgets' Take
When I first saw this, it took me back to my pixelated Mario Cart days. And I think this is going to be one of the highlighting features of the Glyph Matrix that's coming to the Phone (3). From what it appears, it could display users' photos via the Glyph Matrix at the back. It could potentially reimagine selfies from the Nothing Phone (3) using a built-in editor to then feed it to the Glyph Matrix display at the back.

This editor may let users further edit the image, add filters to it, adjust warmth, contrast and other settings. Once configured, the device could display the image on the Glyph Matrix module by strategically lighting up the LEDs.
This could be a unique way for users to display images on the back of their phone. And yes, I say images because I do not think Nothing will limit it to just selfies. In the future, users will likely able to add their own images from the gallery, thus opening up a world of possibilities.
