The OnePlus-Hasselblad partnership could soon come to an end as the Chinese company seems to be working on its own imaging brand. OnePlus first partnered with Hasselblad for the launch of OnePlus 9 in 2021, and we've seen five generations of OnePlus flagships featuring Hasselblad's image tuning.
According to leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo, OnePlus is working on the OnePlus 15, and it could come with a new imaging system. It's expected to be a self-developed imaging brand on which OnePlus will next market its smartphone cameras.

The source also suggests that OnePlus could ditch the current circular camera layout for something different. The camera setup is rumoured to include three 50 MP cameras, with a main wide, ultra-wide, and a 3x periscope camera.
Besides, the OnePlus 15 will feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K LIPO AMOLED panel, and will hence boast extremely thin bezels. It's also expected to feature Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC coupled with 7,000 mAh battery and 100W fast charging. The phone is also expected to boast an IP68/69 rating.
The absence of Hasselblad would mark a major shift in OnePlus' camera strategy. With more firms relying on major camera manufacturers for tuning, this move from OnePlus was extremely unexpected. Perhaps the firm is now ready to combine all of their learnings from the Hasselblad partnership into their own imaging system.
OnePlus is expected to skip the OnePlus 14 and directly launch the OnePlus 15. Since the OnePlus 13 launched in October last year, the OnePlus 15 could launch around the same time this year in China first, followed by a global launch in January next year. More leaks about the device should start popping as we inch closer to the launch.
