After the Huawei Pura X Max launched this year as the world's first wide foldable, it appears every other brand is preparing for their own iteration of the new format. Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide and Apple's first foldable iPhone will already be embracing the wide foldable. Now, it seems like Oppo could emerge as the underdog next year with the Find N7.
Oppo Reportedly Preps Find N7 with a Wide Folding Display
While the Oppo Find N6 launched just a few months back, a new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) has revealed that the brand is already working on the sequel, the Find N7. Slated to launch in Q1 2027, it seems like Oppo is going the passport design route by making the Find N7 a wide-screen foldable.

The leak states that the phone is being tested with a 7.6-inch folding display and a 5.5-inch outer screen. This is similar to what the iPhone Fold and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide are expected to launch with and hence, it is clear that Find N7 is adopting the passport-like design.
DCS further mentions that the current test unit is using "SDC/BOE" display and it could mean that while the inner folding screen is a Samsung-made panel, Oppo is using a BOE-made display for the outer screen.

The translated text also mentions a "seamless hinge solution similar to Apple's". While it is unclear as to what it exactly means, we believe the Find N7 could bring a hinge design mechanism which is comparable to the liquid metal for the iPhone Fold hinge that Apple is planning to use.
As for the rest, the foldable is said to feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series processor and it could either be the standard 8 Elite Gen 6 or the newer 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. Given that the Find N6 comes with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, the former seems to be more plausible.
That said, it is still too early to know for sure how exactly the Oppo Find N7 will turn out. Since the phone isn't launching before Q1 2027, we still have plenty of months left for concrete details to emerge. In the meantime, it will be interesting to see what Samsung and Apple have in store. So, stay tuned.
