In recent years, as India's smartphone and accessories market has boomed, it has become a prime ground for fake and counterfeit electronics. Very recently, over 1,000 fake Noting and CMF accessories were seized in a coordinated raid. Now, a major crackdown has happened in the national capital, involving the seizure of fake Oppo, OnePlus and Realme smartphones.
Delhi Police Raid Uncovers Factory Making Fake Oppo, OnePlus, and Realme Phones
The Delhi Police Crime Branch, on May 10, 2026, conducted a major search-and-seizure operation, busting a large quantity of fake OnePlus, Oppo and Realme smartphones that are manufactured in Delhi, India.

The team managed to shut down and seal two warehouses in the Raghubir and Karol Bagh area and a manufacturing factory in Moti Nagar. These were used to print fake labels, package counterfeit phones and distribute them in the open market. Over eight machines have been sealed which were used to manufacture and sell these fake phones on a large scale.
During the raid, the team also managed to apprehend two suspects believed to be involved in the scandal. The police officials believe that this operation is part of a larger illegal trade racket which has produced huge quantities of fake electronic products and accessories and sold them to unsuspecting buyers.
Delhi police have confirmed that their investigation is ongoing and is part of their nationwide effort to ban the manufacturing and sale of fake electronics in India. While this is a large-scale problem that is not going away anytime soon, consumers need to be more aware of their purchases and brands need to protect users from counterfeit products.

It is best to carefully analyse the package before making any purchase, like checking for misspelt words, inconsistent logos, low-quality packaging, wrong information and more. Users can also check the IMEI number on Oppo and other phones and run an online verification to double-check the same.
Several brands also offer verification checks like serial numbers and QR codes which can be directly cross-verified by visiting the brand's official website. Also, for smartphones purchased offline, make sure to only proceed via authorised sellers.
