Poco M8 5G Launch Date in India Announced

After a bunch of teasers, Poco has finally confirmed the Poco M8 5G launch date in India. The phone is all set to launch on January 8, 2026, at 12:00 PM IST with a slim form factor and dual-tone design.

While the Poco M8 5G India launch was teased a couple of days ago, the brand hadn't completely revealed the design. Now, we get a good look at the phone and based on it, we see a grey centre panel flanked by black, carbon fibre-inspired racing strips on both sides. It also sports a squircle-shaped camera module at the top, housing dual rear cameras, an LED flash and a third decorative ring. 

Previously, the brand also confirmed the Poco M8 5G to measure 7.35mm in thickness and weigh about 178 grams. Apart from that, we also know that the upcoming Poco phone will feature a 50 MP main camera. 

While the brand hasn't confirmed anything else, the rumour mill suggests the phone is a rebranded Redmi Note 15 Pro. If that's the case, then we can expect the Poco M8 5G specifications to include a 6.83-inch 120 Hz AMOLED display. Under the hood, the phone could be powered by the Dimensity 7400 Ultra processor and be paired with up to 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256 GB UFS 2.2 storage.

The Poco M8 5G specs could also include a 7,000mAh battery with 45W fast wired charging support. One can also expect an 8 MP ultra-wide camera to accompany the smartphone's already confirmed 50 MP shooter. At the front, there could be a 20 MP selfie shooter. 

Since the brand hasn't confirmed any of these details, we'd recommend taking it all with a grain of salt. However, if the Poco M8 5G is indeed a rebranded Redmi Note 15 Pro and is priced aggressively, it could potentially be one of the best phones under Rs 20,000 in India.
