A few days back, Xiaomi teased the Poco M8x 5G India launch and now the brand has confirmed the exact launch date of the phone.
The official Poco India X account has confirmed that the Poco M8x 5G will launch in India on August 21, 2026, at 12:00 PM IST. A dedicated Flipkart microsite has also gone live, confirming the phone's availability on the e-commerce platform.
Moreover, the smartphone is confirmed to be powered by the newly launched Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset. This will make it the only phone in India so far to launch with the brand-new mid-range processor.
For context, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 is a TSMC-made 4nm chipset with an octa-core architecture, featuring two Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.4GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. The SoC is equipped with an Adreno 629 GPU and comes with Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1 support.
All in all, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 is a capable SoC and could be a solid choice for the M8x if priced right during the ongoing RAM crisis. Since the Poco M8x 5G will sit below the Poco M8 Power and Poco M8 5G, it could start at under Rs 20,000.
Aside from that, the Flipkart microsite has revealed that the Poco M8x 5G has scored a 650K+ AnTuTu score and will feature LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. The phone could start with 6 GB of onboard RAM, since the website says 12 GB of RAM, including 6 GB of virtual RAM.
Additionally, the smartphone will feature a triple cooling layer design with a 12,439 mm² vapour chamber cooling module, a 1,924 mm² copper foil layer and a 3.5W high-efficiency thermal gel.
Poco has not shared any other details regarding the Poco M8x 5G. Given that the phone is launching in just a few days, we won't have to wait long to know more.
