Realme is set to announce a partnership with a world-renowned camera brand on October 9, 2025, which could improve the camera performance on the upcoming Realme phones. Many rumours previously suggested this partnership would potentially come to fruition, and we finally have an official confirmation.
Realme is finally joining the premium camera partnership trend
Realme's Head of Product Marketing, Francis Wong, posted on X that Realme will announce its partnership with a "world renowned camera brand" on October 9, 2025. The post also contains a teaser image with a person's silhouette holding a phone at eye level horizontally, possibly hinting at a "see what your eyes see" metaphor.

While Realme did not reveal the name of the brand it's partnering with, rumours have pointed out that it could be with Ricoh. For those unaware, Ricoh is a Japanese camera manufacturer like Hasselblad and Leica, and it also produces printers and projectors.
Realme's next big smartphone release could be the Realme GT 8 Pro, which the firm is expected to launch this month itself. In case more details about the potential Ricoh partnership are unveiled tomorrow, we may also get a first glimpse at the upcoming GT 8 Pro series, which has leaked on multiple occasions.

Realme GT 8 Pro is confirmed to arrive with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Camera-wise, the device is expected to boast the newly-launched 200 MP Samsung ISOCELL HP5 sensor along with a 3x periscope lens. The rest of the cameras are expected to be 50 MP wide and ultrawide units.
The phone could boast a 7,300mAh battery with 120W fast charging and a large 6.8-inch 2K 144Hz LTPO OLED display with a whopping 7,000 nits peak brightness. It's also expected to boast an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, improved stereo speakers and haptics.
There's no denying that partnering with renowned camera brands has helped Chinese brands turn their core weakness, i.e., cameras, into their strength. Xiaomi and Vivo are sticking to Leica and Zeiss, while Realme partners with Ricoh. However, the odd one out is OnePlus ending the Hasselblad partnership for its own DetailMax Engine.
It's safe to say that the 2026 flagships will be competing in both performance and camera quality, and it will be interesting to see how each flagship fares. October 2025 is packed with launches with the Oppo Find X9, Vivo X300 series, OnePlus 15 and the Realme GT 8 series. We will follow every launch and report in detail, so stay tuned.
