The Redmi Note 17 and Note 17 Pro launched in China recently and now the brand is bringing the standard Note 17 to India. Xiaomi has confirmed the exact launch date of the Redmi Note 17 5G in India, while also teasing its design and revealing some key hardware upgrades.
Redmi Note 17 5G To Launch in India Next Month
As per the official Xiaomi India website, the Redmi Note 17 5G will launch in India on August 6, 2026. The phone will be sold in the country via Amazon and a dedicated microsite is also live on the platform.

We also get to learn that the Redmi Note 17 will feature an 8,000mAh battery and sport an AMOLED display.
The design of the smartphone is also showcased in two colourways and they are called Light Aquamarine and Meteor Purple in China. It is unclear if the same colour names will be used in India.

Redmi Note 17 5G Specifications (Expected)

While Xiaomi hasn't officially revealed the Redmi Note 17 5G's complete specifications for India yet, its China counterpart gives us a good idea of what to expect.
For starters, the Note 17 could become the first true 7-inch phone of 2026 in India. To recall, the Redmi Note 17 5G features a 7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset and ships with HyperOS 3 out of the box.
A previous Redmi Note 17 5G RAM and storage leak hinted at the Indian variant sporting at least 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The rest of the specs could include 45W fast charging support, an IP65 rating, a 50 MP Light Fusion main camera and an 8 MP front camera.
With the Redmi Note 17 5G India launch date officially out and some key specs revealed, we can expect Xiaomi to share more details about the India variant of the phone in the coming days.
