Samsung's next flagship phones could finally deliver the battery upgrade Galaxy fans have been waiting for. A new supply chain leak suggests the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra may pack significantly larger batteries, marking Samsung's biggest capacity jump in years.

Samsung Galaxy S27 Series Could Breach the 5,500mAh Mark

According to industry whispers via GalaxyClub, the upcoming Galaxy S27 Pro may pack a 5,087mAh rated battery, which will likely be marketed with a typical capacity of 5,200mAh.

Meanwhile, the top-tier Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to feature a massive 5,534mAh battery, which could carry a typical advertised capacity of 5,700mAh.

This marks a substantial 15% jump in capacity compared to the standard Galaxy S26 Ultra's 5,000mAh marketed battery capacity. For those unaware, flagship Samsung phones have stuck with a 5,000mAh cell for over five generations at this point, since the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

This significant leap in battery capacity could be attributed to the addition of a newer Silicon-Carbon anode battery. Samsung has silently packed Silicon-Carbon batteries in the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8, and the tech is expected to expand across the brand's device portfolio.

As for the other specifications, Samsung is said to bring Privacy Display across the Galaxy S27 series. For those unaware, the lineup may consist of four phones – Galaxy S27, S27+, S27 Pro and S27 Ultra.

Performance-wise, the smartphones are expected to arrive with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor.

A recent Galaxy S27 camera leak suggests the phones could get new 50 MP main Sony cameras. The Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra are expected to get new 50 MP telephoto and ultrawide snappers, alongside a seemingly square 1:1 16 MP front camera with iPhone-like Centre Stage capabilities.

That said, Galaxy S27 is expected to debut with One UI 9.5 out of the box, bringing Samsung's mid-year software refresh with new features.

If Samsung follows its usual cadence, the Galaxy S27 series could be unveiled in February 2027. More information about the series should surface as we inch closer to launch, so stay tuned.
