Samsung has begun rolling out Galaxy Watch 4's big final One UI 8 update, and it's now seeding to Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic. It brings most of the One UI 8 Watch goodies, including new One UI Watch features, improvements and Wear OS 6 features.
One UI 8 Watch is the last update for Galaxy Watch 4
The Galaxy Watch 4, which was released in 2021, is also a part of the One UI 8 supported devices list and is finally getting the update. The update, which weighs over 1 GB, is currently seeding to Wi-Fi users in South Korea with firmware versions R870XXU1JYK4 and R880XXU1JYK4.

For those unaware, Samsung started rolling out the update to Galaxy Watch 7, 6, and 5 series smartwatches in September 2025 and brought a major redesign of the operating system. This includes new tiles, an app drawer overhaul and Now Bar, which displays ongoing background activities, such as active workouts or music playback.
Besides, the Galaxy Watch 4 also gets new double pinch gestures, which let users control more of their watch without touching the touchscreen. Besides, selecting and applying new watch faces is now much easier.
Some of the other visual and functional improvements include a new charging effect, stacked notifications, improvements to Samsung Health and a collection of new watch faces.

The update is currently rolling out to Korean users, but considering all goes well, it should expand to India, the USA and Poland, followed by even more countries very soon. Galaxy Watch 4 owners are advised to connect to Wi-Fi and install the update from the watch itself for quicker installation.
One UI 8 Watch marks the end of life for Galaxy Watch 4, which was the first Wear OS smartwatch to be promised four major upgrades. Samsung still leads the charge with the most amount of promised updates in smartwatches, with Pixel Watches being the second with their three major updates promise.
