It is no surprise that in 2026, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 will launch as the brand's latest clamshell foldable. Now, while we are still a long way from its official unveiling, the leaks have already started appearing. The latest one spills the tea on the processor choice for the smartphone.
Galaxy Z Flip 8 with Exynos 2600 incoming
As per South Korean tech publication The Bell, Samsung will likely opt for the world's first 2nm processor to power the Galaxy Z Flip 8. The all-new Exynos 2600, which already looks impressive on paper, is set to power the brand's next clamshell smartphone.

This comes just after the possibility of the Galaxy Z Flip 8 with custom Qualcomm chip surfaced online last week. The yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8s Gen 5 was supposedly going to make its way via the flip phone.
However, it now looks like Samsung is sticking to its in-house SoC and this shows a strong confidence from the brand's end. It is also not surprising since the Galaxy Z Flip 7 rocked the Exynos 2500 processor.

Moreover, the publication claims that in recent days, the AP performance of Samsung Foundry has considerably improved. Add to the fact that currently, the only official 2nm chip in existence is the Exynos 2600. So, it is understandable that Samsung is looking to maximise its yield while also ensuring it doesn't have to rely on competing semiconductor vendors for its in-house devices.
That said, while the choice of the Exynos 2600 for the Galaxy Z Flip 8 seems to be the obvious one, it also has a bigger impact to offer. With the successful implementation and adoption of Exynos 2600, Samsung will be able to stabilise its process reference and pave the way for Samsung LSI and Samsung Foundry's dominance in the glob chip-making space.
