After Google and Samsung, it is now Xiaomi who has joined the list of Android brands who has enabled native AirDrop support via Quick Share. This bridges a key Android iOS ecosystem gap, bringing wider smartphone interoperability.

Xiaomi 17T Pro Gains AirDrop Support in Quick Share

The official Xiaomi HyperOS X account has confirmed that in the latest HyperOS 3 update, Xiaomi has enabled AirDrop compatibility in Quick Share. It is going live with the newly launched Xiaomi 17T Pro first and will gradually roll out to other Xiaomi-branded smartphones in the coming weeks.

The feature first went live back in November 2025, when Google announced AirDrop support in Quick Share for the Pixel 10 series. It was then adopted by the Galaxy S26 lineup and Xiaomi has become the third brand to enable this for the 17T Pro.

Hence, with the new update, the Quick Share settings panel will now be able to identify and highlight nearby Apple devices, including iPhones, Macs and iPads, to send files. Subsequently, AirDrop will also be able to populate compatible Xiaomi phones to send files back to them.

That said, with more Xiaomi phones getting the feature in the coming weeks, we also expect other major Android brands to follow suit soon, so stay tuned.
