Google has officially started Beta testing the next major Android version, i.e., Android 17. Google Pixel smartphones are the first to receive Android 17 Beta 1, but other manufacturers are expected to commence the testing soon. One of them is Xiaomi and its sister brands Redmi and Poco. While the brand hasn't released an official HyperOS 4 eligible devices list, we have made a list based on phones we highly expect to receive the latest Android 17-based update.

Xiaomi, Redmi, Poco HyperOS 4 Eligible Devices

Users with a fairly recent flagship or premium mid-range phone are likely eligible for HyperOS 4. While Xiaomi is yet to officially announce the features and improvements arriving in HyperOS 4, we can expect most of Android 17 features to make it to the release.

The list of supported devices could include every flagship Xiaomi phone released within the last four years, and every Xiaomi, Poco and Redmi mid-range smartphone launched in the last couple of years. How Many Updates Will Your Xiaomi, Redmi, Poco Phone Get?

For those unaware, Xiaomi promises four years of software updates to its flagship smartphones. Redmi's update policy varies, with the recent K series promising up to four years of updates.

Similarly, the newer Redmi Note series is promised four years of major updates, while Poco generally also promises four years for its flagship killers and 2-3 years for its X series. The same is limited to two or 1 years for the budget M series.

The bottom line is, if your Xiaomi, Poco or Redmi phone belongs to a flagship or flagship killer category, it will receive four years of OS updates. Mid-range to upper mid-range phones get two-three years of updates, while budget smartphones are restricted to one or two years of updates.

HyperOS 4 Release Date

Xiaomi typically aligns its initial beta rollouts with Google I/O, and since Google I/O 2026 is set for May 19, we can expect the first HyperOS 4.0 beta to arrive on the Xiaomi 17 series soon. Although the exact release date is still unannounced.

The stable rollout could happen in September 2026, with the update rolling out to Xiaomi 17 series and Xiaomi 15 series, followed by Poco smartphones and Redmi K series smartphones. The staged rollout could expand to the rest of the smartphones by the end of 2026.

If you're still confused about when your Xiaomi, Redmi, or Poco smartphone will receive the update, we recommend installing the MemeOS Enhancer app from the Play Store. It should tell you your current Android version and when your device will reach EoL. More information about the HyperOS 4 update and its features should be unveiled as we inch closer to launch, so stay tuned.
