Google recently released its next big Android update in the form of Android 17 alongside the Pixel June Drop, and it brings a host of new features, improving the user experience. However, it appears from recent reports that users have been facing strange issues related to Wi-Fi not working after updating to Android 17.

Android 17 Is Breaking Some Apps on Wi-Fi

Following the Android 17 release on Pixels, a few users have taken to Reddit to report an issue where apps are no longer connecting to the internet on Wi-Fi. While apps like TikTok and Google Play Store are not working, others have flagged the issue with most of the Google apps on their phones.

The Google Play Store seems to be a common app in these reports, while others have also reported YouTube Music. Users are being met with the "No internet connection" page on Wi-Fi, whereas others have reported the problem fixing itself after switching to Mobile Data.

While most users have laid out their complaints, one of them seems to have found the fix, which is to go to the router settings and enable IPV6. Others have reportedly fixed theirs by updating to the latest Google Play System update, while a few fixed it by restarting their phones.

Now, we don't know what could be causing the issue and whether it's related to Android 17 itself or a recent update to the Google Play Services. It appears to be the latter considering user reports suggest that a Google Play System update seems to have fixed it.

We don't know what caused the issue, and Google has yet to acknowledge the same. However, users facing the issue may want to try updating their Google Pixel phones or using the fixes described above. We should hear more about this issue from if it has a widespread impact on users.
