At the WWDC 2026 event on Monday, Apple released the iOS 27 update, its most improved software in years. It has brought a truckload of under-the-hood refinements and new features, including Siri AI. One such is a neat new feature in FaceTime, which could prove handy for a lot of users.
iOS 27 Brings Dual Camera View to FaceTime
First spotted by 9to5Mac, the new iOS 27 update has unlocked Dual Camera view inside FaceTime, which was previously limited to the camera viewfinder of the iPhone 17 series and the iPhone Air. This brings the ability to use both the front and the back camera at the same time during FaceTime calls.

For those unaware, Apple debuted Dual Camera view with the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air last year. It allowed the camera app to make use of both the front and back cameras for a split dual view to let users record them from the front as well as record their surroundings from the back cameras.
Now the same functionality is available in FaceTime for iPhone 17 series and iPhone Air users running iOS 27. To enable Dual Camera, users will need to click on the "Flip" button, which will automatically turn the viewfinder into split dual mode.
That said, we are not sure at the time of writing if it will roll out to older Apple iPhones as well. However, we will know more once Apple drops other updates for iOS 27. So, stay tuned.
