Summary

  • The Exynos 2700 could bring around a 35% performance improvement thanks to ARM's Cortex-C2 cores.
  • It could be manufactured on Samsung's 2nd generation 2nm SF2P process, bringing around 12% performance and 25% efficiency boost.
  • The processor is also expected to run much cooler thanks to the FOWLP-SbS technology, which uses a copper sink over the chip.

While the Exynos 2600 has yet to make its official debut with the Galaxy S26 series, new leaks are already shedding light on the Exynos 2700. It looks like the processor might bring considerable performance and efficiency upgrades over the Exynos 2600, almost making it feel like a generational leap.

Exynos 2700 could use Samsung's next-generation 2nm process

According to a thread posted by X user @BairroGrande, the Samsung Exynos 2700 is codenamed "Ulysses" and will reportedly be built on Samsung's SF2P process. This new node could bring a 12% boost in the overall performance and a 25% reduction in energy consumption compared to Exynos 2600 and its SF2 node.

The leak also suggests that the Exynos 2700 could utilise ARM's latest Cortex-C2 prime cores at an increased maximum frequency of 4.2 GHz, up from 3.9 GHz. Thereby, the processor could potentially achieve scores of around 5,000 and 15,000 in Geekbench's single-core and multi-core tests. This could mark an overall processing jump of 35%.

We've previously heard that the next Exynos could run cooler, and the new leak further doubles down on the same. The Exynos 2700 could use FOWLP-SbS technology, meaning components on the die could be arranged in a way that doesn't block the path of the heat, helping the processor dissipate heat much faster.

The technology also uses a copper-based heat sink directly over the chip to achieve much better cooling. This could solve a long-standing problem with Exynos processors, where it would be hard to bring out the best in them due to thermal throttling.

Lastly, Exynos 2700 could include support for LPDDR6 and UFS 5.0, doubling the data transfer speeds compared to the Exynos 2600. This could further result in a 30 to 40% increase in performance.

We expect the Exynos 2700 to power the Galaxy S27 series. The Exynos 2600 is reportedly Korea-exclusive, but considering Samsung sorts out its troubles with the ongoing yield issues, the Exynos 2700 could very well arrive on at least the standard Galaxy S27 and S27+.

While the numbers may seem impressive, we suggest you take them with a grain of salt, since this is very early information and appears to come straight out of what looks like a leaked Samsung presentation or media gallery.
