Google Photos is one of the most popular and feature-rich photo viewer/editor apps for Android. It has received a plethora of updates recently, including the new Google Photos AI Touch-Up tools. Now, the Google Photos Android app is also getting the ability to store and organise stickers, which was previously limited to iOS.
Google Photos on Android Gets Ability to Store Sticker Collection
Initially spotted by Android Authority, the new Sticker collection update is rolling out as part of the Google Photos 7.78 version update via the Google Play Store. It has now enabled the ability for users to easily access all the stickers created and used within the app.

As it is evident from the above image, the Collections tab now has a separate folder labelled "Stickers" which can not only store stickers created within the Google Photos app but also those received from third-party messaging apps like WhatsApp.
It acts as a one-stop shop to send, receive and edit stickers on Android. This, although small, is an immensely handy addition, especially for those who love to communicate using stickers (myself included). The sticker collection update was first shipped to the Google Photos iOS app six months ago.
It is important to note that the custom stickers will also contain subject cutouts like pets, objects and people, which Google creates using on-device machine learning. At the time of writing, there doesn't seem to be an option to sort between custom stickers and regular stickers.
That said, the Google Photos sticker update is rolling out gradually and should reach more users in the coming weeks. I checked for the update on my Nothing Phone (2) and it isn't here yet. Make sure to update the Google Photos app to the aforementioned version for the new sticker collections. If you still haven't received the update, don't worry, it shall gradually reach your phone too in the coming days or weeks.
