Summary

  • Pixel Watch 4 is said to come in both 41 mm and 45 mm sizes, with and without LTE connectivity.
  • It could come in the Obsidian, Porcelain, Iris, Moonstone and Lemon colourways.
  • The watch could be slightly thicker than before, likely to pack a larger battery.

Google's upcoming Pixel Watch 4 could be its most refined smartwatch yet. Fresh new leaks have surfaced, revealing design tweaks, new charging tech and updated colours for the upcoming smartwatch.

We get to see fresh design renders shared by noted tipster OnLeaks in collaboration with 91Mobiles. Meanwhile, tipster Arsène Lupin took to X to reveal the Pixel Watch 4's variants, sizes and colour options.

Going by these leaks, the Pixel Watch 4 will stick to a familiar circular design. However, it will be slightly thicker at 14 mm compared to its predecessor's 12.3 mm. The added thickness could be to make room for a larger battery, which is a welcome change given the Pixel Watch series' infamously short battery life.

However, the overall footprint remains compact, with the watch said to come in the 41 mm and 45 mm case sizes. One of the most noticeable changes in the design render is the removal of the four magnetic charging pins that previous models featured. This could suggest Google moving on to wireless charging, possibly supporting the Qi2 standard

Further, the leaked renders also reveal that the digital crown is retained alongside two small buttons positioned on either side of the speaker grille. While their exact function isn't confirmed, these could provide extra shortcuts or new controls. While the display still has that curved edge, subtle tweaks to the speaker and mic cutouts offer a more polished look.

The Pixel Watch 4 is also reportedly getting more colours this time around. It might come in the Obsidian (Black), Porcelain (Creamy White), Lemon (Yellow) and Iris (Silver) colour options. In addition, Google is also said to offer a range of strap styles

These include a two-tone leather band in Jade and an Active Band available in Iris, Lemongrass and Moonstone. Meanwhile, the Active Sport Band might come in Indigo, Lemongrass, Moonstone and Peony. There will also be a Crafted Leather Band in Moonstone, with Metal Mesh Bands available in Matte Black and Polished Silver.

The latest leaks also suggest a Performance Loop Band in Moonstone and a Woven Band in Indigo. Finally, Gradient Stretch Bands are also said to arrive in Lemongrass/Frost, Obsidian/Hazel, Moonstone and Peony/Iris.

While the leaks don't confirm the processor or health sensor details, rumours point to either an updated Snapdragon chipset or a custom Tensor processor. The watch could run on Wear OS 6 out of the box.

With that said, the Google Pixel Watch 4 is expected to launch later this year, likely around the same time as the Pixel 10 series. Only then will we know for sure if these details are indeed true and how the smartwatch fares against rival offerings from Samsung and Apple.
