The gaming smartphone market has taken a back seat, following the exit of prominent manufacturers like Asus. Nubia remains the only major manufacturer to still be taking the market seriously, but that could change soon, as Lenovo has announced its return to the market with the Legion Y70.
Lenovo Legion Y70 Launch Officially Teased
The official Lenovo Weibo handle has revealed that its next-generation gaming phone will be called the Legion Y70 2026. Additionally, we also get to know that the phone will launch as early as May 2026.

According to Lenovo, the phone will be "tailor-made for the AI gaming era," seemingly leveraging on-device AI to optimise performance, manage thermals and enhance the overall gaming experience.
While the post doesn't directly reveal the processor Lenovo may use in the Legion Y70 2026, it will likely be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. When a fan asked about the same in the comments, Lenovo's official account responded by stating, "It will certainly live up to your expectations," strongly hinting at the same.

With the Lenovo Legion Y70 2026 launch slated for May 2026, the brand is expected to reveal more of its specifications and features in the coming days. If it does indeed pack the latest Qualcomm flagship chipset, the phone will directly take on competitors like the RedMagic 11 Pro.
For those unaware, the Lenovo Legion Y70 was announced in 2022, a year after the Legion 2 Pro launch. It featured the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and a 5,100mAh battery with 68W charging. Considering how far the Silicon Carbon tech has come, we expect Lenovo to pack in a monstrous battery of at least 7,000mAh in the Legion Y70 2026. More information should be revealed soon, so stay tuned.
