Nothing's Phone (3) is currently the talk of the town, and fans are waiting to finally witness the device after waiting for almost two years. With teasers here and there, the brand has kept the fans guessing. The company has shared a new key detail about what powers the upcoming Phone (3) smartphone.
In an official X post, Nothing shared that the Phone (3) will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC. The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is not up there with the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. And the latter is what fans expected the Phone (3) to pack, given Carl Pei's promise of a "true flagship" level experience. Although not much is known about the other hardware upgrades the Phone (3) is getting, this single fact is enough to break a lot of fans' hearts.
Everything enhanced.

To recall, Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset a few months back. It's intended to sit below the Snapdragon 8 Elite, and hence misses out on the new Oryon cores from the latter. The 8s Gen 4 is built on TSMC's 4nm process node. It is an octa-core processor with 1x Cortex-X4 prime core clocked at 3.21GHz, 3x Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 3.0GHz, 2x Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 2.80GHz, and 2x Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 2.0GHz.
It features the Adreno 825 GPU, and Qualcomm has claimed a 49% performance jump over the 8s Gen 3. This proves that the 8s Gen 4 is a capable SoC, just not a flagship-grade one.
As Carl Pei officially confirmed, the Phone (3) will start at 800 pounds (approximately Rs 92,500). This is, of course, a steep price considering the 8s Gen 4 chipset. So, it will be interesting to see how Nothing prices the Phone (3) in India, which is a price-conscious market and doesn't miss out on a lot of options when it comes to smartphones.
