Samsung has been hard at work expanding and testing One UI 9 on a myriad of smartphones, and we've seen lots of features surface over time. While some of these features are functional, most of them are cosmetic, giving the user interface a refresh. An upcoming UI revamp to One UI's browser app has surfaced today.

Samsung Is Prepping Transparent Effects for Its System Apps

These visual upgrades were first spotted by SamMobile in an internal build of the Samsung Browser app, bearing the version 30.0.2.45. It's an upcoming version of the app made for One UI 9 and features a semi-transparent background effect on both the top status bar and the bottom toolbar.

For those unaware, the Browser app on One UI currently features solid blocks of colours on the top and bottom. And while it works, it's far from pleasing and tends to block the content from seamlessly appearing in the readable area. With this change, the content could flow a bit better and offer a much more pleasing reading experience.

That said, the folks over at SamMobile also stumbled upon a Predictive Back Gestures toggle in the browser. Browsers like Chrome fully utilise the feature, which originally rolled out in Android 15. With this change, users should be able to peek and check what's behind their current page before committing to going back.

Samsung recently rolled out One UI 9 Beta on the Galaxy S26 series, and the Beta is soon headed to the Galaxy S25, Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A19 5G smartphones as well. One UI 9 features are expected to debut with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, which is rumoured to launch on July 22, 2026, at Samsung's next Galaxy Unpacked event.

Since this is literally the beginning of testing on smartphones, Samsung is expected to roll out more features, such as smarter Smart Replies on One UI 9. It is already rolling out an improved Lockdown mode and more keyboard customisation options via the latest Themepark update. Stay tuned to hear about more upcoming features.
