Redmi is gearing to launch its first flagship tablet, the Redmi K Pad in China. And ahead of its scheduled unveiling later this month, the Chinese smartphone brand has given us a glimpse into the design and the form-factor of the tablet.
Redmi took to Weibo, to share a bunch of images revealing the K Pad in all its glory. It is confirmed to feature an 8.8-inch LCD display with uniform bezels throughout. Redmi claims that this is the perfect form factor for a tablet that takes into account portability without compromising on the screen size.

Flipping to the back, we are greeted with a matte back design that features a single top-left aligned camera. The camera is part of an extended vertical pill-shaped module with the "Gamma Antenna" tag, right below the microphone cutout. The LED flash rests outside the camera island, with the distinctive Redmi branding in the bottom left corner.

Apart from this, the volume rockers are present on the right, with the power button at the top. Redmi has teased the tablet in a purple colourway. However, expect it to launch in other colour options as well.
With its "mini" form-factor, Redmi is competing directly with the small-tablet king, the Apple iPad Mini. And just like its iPad counterpart, the Redmi K Pad will also feature a flagship-grade processor, the Dimensity 9400+ SoC. This was revealed earlier by Redmi president, Thomas Wang on Weibo.

Wang further shared that the K Pad will feature a high-resolution and refresh rate dual-IC LCD screen, which is "comparable to the OLED screen of a flagship mobile phone, cost and complexity-wise".
Other than that, a previous leak hinted at 3K resolution for the display with 165Hz refresh rate. Also added to the mix will be 67W wired fast charging.
And as for the pricing, the K Pad is rumoured to cost 4,000 Chinese Yuan (approximately Rs 48,000). However, we will get a better idea once the device launches, which is expected to take place by the end of June. The date is yet to be confirmed by the brand.
