Summary

  • Redmi Note 15 lineup is said to launch in India sometime in January 2026, as per a new report.
  • If this is true, that will make the series over a year late than the predecessors that launched in December 2024.
  • Redmi Note 15 Pro+ will steal the spotlight with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, 50 MP telephoto sensor and 7,000mAh battery with 90W charging.

Xiaomi is reportedly preparing to bring its next-generation mid-range Redmi Note 15 series to India. However, the launch could be slightly delayed, according to a new report.

Redmi Note 15 series may not launch in India this year

As per an exclusive report by Smartprix in collaboration with tipster Yogesh Brar, the Redmi Note 15, Note 15 Pro and Note 15 Pro+ could launch in India in January 2026. If that's indeed true, it will certainly disrupt the brand's usual strategy of giving us a "Note" lineup annually. For instance, Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 14 series in India on December 9, 2024, making the successors' debut over a year late.

Besides, the Redmi Note 15 launch in China happened back in August 2025 itself, making the India launch five months late if the report is to be believed. Talks of Xiaomi scaling back in India were already plaguing the internet a while back, so this delay could be a result of that very rumour.

As for the specs themselves, we already know it all, thanks to the China launch. The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is understandably the top-tier model in the lineup, offering the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset and a triple rear camera setup with a 50 MP telephoto sensor. There's also a 7,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging.

Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 15 Pro is powered by the Dimensity 7400 Ultra, features dual rear cameras with a 50 MP primary shooter at the helm and a slower 45W fast charging. Both the Pro models also flaunt the same 6.83-inch micro-curved AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate and 3,200 nits peak brightness. Both Pro phones are also IP66 + IP68 + IP69 + IP69K rated.

The regular Note 15, on the other hand, is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and packs a smaller 5,800mAh battery. The display is also slightly smaller at 6.77-inch and the resolution is toned-down at Full HD+. However, the refresh rate remains 120 Hz. Durability is compromised on the base model as well, with an IP66 rating. While it shares the same 50 MP primary shooter with the Note 15 Pro, the secondary shooter is a downgraded 2 MP depth sensor.

If the Redmi Note 15 launch date in India is actually set for some time in January, expect the brand to start teasing the phones sometime in December.
