Samsung's ambitions in extended reality (XR) are beginning to take clearer shape. Back in 2025, the company officially introduced its Galaxy XR mixed-reality headset developed in partnership with Google and Qualcomm. Then, we also got to know that the Samsung AI Smart Glasses launch will happen as early as this year. Now, these smart glasses, dubbed Samsung Galaxy Glasses, have surfaced online in all their glory.

From the looks of it, Samsung is opting for a Meta Ray-Ban-like design for its smart glasses, codenamed "Jinju". The leaked renders show a lightweight (said to be about 50 grams), conventional eyewear form factor with minimal bulk, suggesting the company is prioritising comfort over overtly futuristic aesthetics.

Subtle camera placements along the frame hint at built-in imaging capabilities, while the overall aesthetic keeps the Samsung Galaxy Glasses discreet.

Samsung Galaxy Glasses Specifications and Features

The report also gives us some insight into the Samsung smart glasses specifications. Under the hood, the Galaxy Glasses are expected to focus heavily on AI-driven functionality rather than immersive visuals. It could be powered by the Snapdragon AR1 chipset and feature a 12 MP Sony IMX-681 camera and bone-conduction audio for open-ear listening. The Samsung AI glasses are also said to pack a 155mAh battery capacity.

Notably, the first-generation Samsung Galaxy Glasses may not feature a display at all, instead relying on voice interactions, contextual awareness and smartphone connectivity to deliver an AI-first experience.

This approach falls in line with Samsung's XR strategy, with multimodal AI powering it all. With deep integration of Google's Gemini AI, the ecosystem is designed to act more like an intelligent companion than a traditional device, capable of understanding surroundings and responding naturally.

Interestingly, Samsung is also said to be developing a more advanced variant of the Galaxy smart glasses, potentially featuring a micro-LED display for augmented reality. Codenamed "Haean", that version is expected to arrive later, as the company refines both hardware and user experience in the category. This falls in line with a recent leak, which revealed that Samsung is working on three smart glasses in 2026.

The latest report also suggests that the Samsung Galaxy Glasses price could be set between $379 (approximately Rs 35,500) and $499 (approximately Rs 47,000). Meanwhile, the advanced AR glasses could arrive with a price tag between $600 (approximately Rs 56,500) and $900 (approximately Rs 85,000).

It looks like phone makers are now shifting their focus on more niche product categories like smart glasses. Not too long ago, we got to know Gucci smart glasses are on their way, in collaboration with Google. Then, other reports also suggested that Nothing smart glasses could arrive sometime in 2027.

While an official Samsung Galaxy Glasses launch timeline remains unclear, speculation points to a debut sometime this year, possibly at a major Samsung event or the upcoming Google I/O 2026. There's no doubt that time is of the essence here and it seems that the Meta Ray-Bans will be its biggest competitior at launch.
