Samsung fans have been waiting with anticipation for the Galaxy S26 series. It is expected to mark the brand's first true step into magnetic charging. Leaks have already given us a look at the Samsung 25W Qi2 power bank and Qi2 magnetic wireless charger. However, there could be a flip side to this wireless dream.

Galaxy S26 series will likely miss out on Qi2 charging natively

Reliable publication Nieuwemobiel has shared a bunch of leaked images of the Galaxy S26 series accessories. It contains the S-Pen in Black and Beige colourways and clear cases for the Samsung Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

While the S-Pen looks identical to the one shipped with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the clear cases tell a whole different story. In fact, it shatters the Qi2 wireless charging support hopes for the upcoming smartphones.

As it is evident from the above image, both the S26+ and the S26 Ultra seem to bring support for magnetic and non-magnetic clear cases. This reveals a concerning detail that the lineup will not have built-in magnets required for Qi2 charging.

Instead, it will rely on first-party accessories like magnetic cases, Samsung-branded Qi2 magnetic wireless charger and more. The phones are still expected to bring 15W wireless charging support. However, they won't be Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) certified.

Moreover, based on the latest revelation, it also seems like the Galaxy S26 lineup will stay limited to 15W Qi2 max wireless charging output. The reason is that for Qi2 25W support to actually work, WPC certifies the use of magnets at the hardware level. Omission of which makes the phone non-compliant.

Hence, it seems like Samsung is bringing practically zero wireless charging upgrade with the Galaxy S26 series. There is still a hint of doubt that the current leak is not the correct one. It will make no sense for Samsung to build a whole ecosystem of Qi2 25W wireless charging hardware unless their Galaxy phones bring support natively.

That said, we will only know what's true once the phones go official in a few weeks. The latest Galaxy S26 launch leak hints at February 25, 2026. Hopefully, the South Korean brand will not break its fans' hearts with practically zero upgrades this year.
