As Samsung readies its Galaxy S26 series for launch, new information about the smartphones won't stop leaking. Now, a new leak reveals that the Galaxy S26 Ultra's top-of-the-line 1 TB storage variant will see a historic price increase due to the ongoing memory epidemic.

Galaxy S26 Ultra is getting expensive

South Korean blog Chosun Biz reports that the 1 TB variant of the Galaxy S26 Ultra could see up to 20% price increase due to the ongoing memory shortage. This is in line with some of the previous rumours that we heard about Galaxy S26 Ultra Europe pricing

However, while earlier rumours suggested a decrease in price of the base variant, the source claims the price hike will be seen across all storage variants. Notably, the 256 GB variant could get a modest 5.8% increase, while the 512 GB variant could get a 11.3% price hike.

An insider claims that the end price may be adjusted by the time Samsung launches the phone, although it will fluctuate by 1,000 Korean Won (approximately Rs 70), which is extremely negligible. While the Ultra is expected to get a price bump, the insider confirms that the brand will absorb the rising RAM costs in case of standard Galaxy S26 and S26+.

This seemingly has to do with the price increase seen in the standard Galaxy S25 units last year. The move was heavily criticised by the tech aficionados because the lack of a specs bump didn't warrant a price increase.

While we don't know the Indian pricing yet, Samsung has opened pre-orders alongside its Galaxy S26 Ultra free storage upgrade perk. For users eyeing the 512 GB variant, this could be a great way to secure a unit without paying more.

The Galaxy Unpacked will take place tomorrow, i.e., on February 25, 2026, and more details about the exact specifications and pricing should be revealed soon. Until then, stay tuned.
