In just a few hours, the much-awaited Galaxy S26 series will go official. While we are expecting three new smartphones to debut, all eyes are on the star of the show, the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Now, it looks like Samsung is also betting big on its Ultra this year by ramping up production significantly ahead of launch.
Galaxy S26 Ultra Initial Production Reportedly Increased by a Million
As per South Korean publication ET News, Samsung is ramping up its initial production run by an extra 1 million units of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. This is considering the early sales projection in the first two months of launch.

The report claims that the South Korean brand was initially going to only produce 2.5 to 2.9 million units. However, it has now been increased to 3.5 to 3.9 million units. For comparison, the Galaxy S25 Ultra only had 3 million units planned for the first run.
This could indicate two things. First is that Samsung is betting big on the Galaxy S26 Ultra and it expects to sell close to 4 million units in the first two months. However, it could also indicate that the brand is stockpiling now to sell later.

The second possibility seems more likely since Samsung expects the production cost to increase significantly down the line, courtesy of the ongoing RAM crisis. Hence, with excess stock now, Samsung will be able to maintain its margins without hiking the price of the smartphone significantly later on.
This further seems the logical reason since the initial first-year estimate of 18 million units of Galaxy S26 Ultra has not changed. All in all, this could prove to be good news for consumers in the long run since current rumours indicate a definite price hike for Galaxy S26 Ultra at launch.
That said, with the Galaxy S26 Ultra launch happening today at 11:30 PM IST, we will know for sure what the latest generation of Samsung flagships has in store for fans.
