It's only been a few months since the debut of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and it looks like Samsung is already working towards its next foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 8. The recent report highlights a significant bump in the camera department of the next book-style foldable.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 camera specs look promising
As per tech publication GalaxyClub, Samsung is planning to give the Galaxy Z Fold 8's cameras a big boost. While the upcoming fold will retain the same 200 MP main camera as that of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, the ultra-wide and telephoto lenses are getting a massive jump.

Instead of the Fold 7's 10 MP telephoto camera, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is said to gain a 12 MP 3x telephoto sensor. As for the ultra-wide camera, it is getting bumped from 12 MP to 50 MP. So, in a nutshell, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is set to gain the Galaxy S25's ultra-wide and telephoto cameras.
If true, this will no doubt bridge the gap between slab phones and folding phones considerably, atleast from Samsung's end. This is one issue the brand has struggled with past folding phones. Cameras always took a hit to accommodate the thin and light form factor of the Galaxy Fold. However, with the next generation, hopefully that is changing.

As for the other details, previous rumours have indicated that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is also getting a new display tech in the form of MONTFLEX. There is also the possibility that Samsung will use laser-drilled metal plates to make the Galaxy Z Fold 8 display crease-free. Also, the S-Pen support is also said to make a comeback with the next foldable.
Other than that, we can see the return of Exynos with the Galaxy Z Fold 8, as new reports hint that Samsung will ship the book-style foldable with the Exynos 2600 chip as opposed to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. That said, since the Galaxy Unpacked event for foldables is most likely going to happen sometime in July 2026, we still have a long time to go for the Z Fold 8 to go official.
