Following the official debut of One UI 8.5 with the Galaxy S26 series, and comprehensive testing on the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung has quietly opened the One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 smartphones.
One UI 8.5 beta now seeding to Samsung Foldables
The beta rollout, sporting the build number ZZC5, is currently rolling out to users in South Korea and India. Weighing just shy of 4.5 GB, this initial beta includes the February 2026 security patch.

The update's arrival follows recent updates where Samsung was spotted creating dedicated beta sections for the two foldables on its Community Forum. As with any early Beta build, users should expect a few potential bugs and app crashes. Therefore, we highly recommend backing up all your data before it's too late.
Those who own a Galaxy Z Fold 7 or Z Flip 7 can enroll into One UI beta via the Samsung Members app. An alternative way is to get the One UI 8.5 beta firmware and flash it manually using Odin with the download mode. Bear in mind that this would be the last flashing session via the same, as Samsung has killed Download Mode in One UI 8.5.
As for the changelog, the update includes all the features that have rolled out to the Galaxy S25 series so far. Some of the One UI 8.5 features include:
- Revamped Bixby with more contextual and natural language controls in partnership with Perplexity. The Now Nudge feature gives context-aware suggestions based on your screen content.
- Photo Assist Upgrades allow users to apply continuous image edits without manually saving each iteration.
- Storage Share allows users to access and manage files across Samsung's connected ecosystem.
- Apps have been redesigned, including Clock and Voice recorder. There are new lock screen clock styles, and the Quick Settings panel is fully personalisable.
To reiterate, One UI 8.5 Beta for Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 is now available in South Korea and India. While the official release date is currently unknown, all the One UI 8.5-supported smartphones are expected to receive the update in the coming months, so stay tuned.
