Sarvam AI, an Indian AI startup, today announced the launch of "Sarvam Samvaad," a conversational AI assistant designed for businesses in India. Vivek Raghavan and Pratyush Kumar kicked off Sarvam AI in July 2023 with the clear goal of making powerful generative AI tools widely available throughout India.
Sarvam Sanvaad lets enterprises develop and deploy AI agents capable of interacting in 11 Indian languages. Additionally, it is intended to facilitate customer interactions across various channels, including telephone, WhatsApp, websites, and mobile applications.
The company states that the platform is built to handle complex linguistic patterns, alphanumeric inputs, and proper nouns. In other words, basically what you come across in daily conversations.
Sarvam AI says businesses can get Samvaad's AI up and running for everyone pretty quickly, even if they start with a small test first. The platform also incorporates pricing models that are intended to suit the Indian market.

A key feature of Samvaad is its real-time analysis of customer conversations, which is designed to provide businesses with insights for operational understanding. Sarvam AI also took to its official YouTube channel to showcase how one can customise the Sarvam Samvaad's Speaker Pace as well as Background Sound levels.
Additionally, the video also showcases the availability of several female and make AI voices to make use of. Businesses can also "automate inbound calls with AI agents, activate event-driven outbound campaigns, and continuously optimize your strategy with A/B testing to maximize conversion," Samvaad states.
Sarvam Samvaad follows Sarvam AI's previous releases, including Sarvam-Translate, a translation model supporting 22 Indian languages for long-form content.
Then, there is also Sarvam-M, a 24-billion parameter hybrid model for ten Indian languages. From the looks of it, all these Sarvam AI models will work hand in hand to create a proper ecosystem of its products for enterprises.
Sarvam AI's efforts, including Samvaad, fit right into a bigger picture of creating AI solutions specifically for Indic languages. Interestingly, we've also seen Ola's Krutrim recently unveil their Kruti AI Assistant. While both aim to make AI more accessible in Indian languages, they seem to be targeting different audiences.
Sarvam Samvaad is clearly designed for businesses, helping them improve customer interactions, whereas Krutrim's offering appears to be geared more towards everyday users.
