Fresh off the launch of Vivo X300FE and Vivo X300 Ultra, the brand has reportedly already started working on its next generation of flagship smartphones. New information reveals more information about Vivo's upcoming X500 series, its major upgrades and answers one of the most obvious questions about Vivo potentially skipping the number "400".
Vivo X500 Series Launch Imminent
Spotted first by Smartprix, three new Vivo smartphones have appeared on the GSMA database – Vivo X500, X500 Pro and X500e. The X500e should be more affordable than its other siblings. The standard X500 is expected to be a compact flagship, while the Pro could get a bigger screen, just like the X300 and X300 Pro.

The source also suggests that Vivo has decided to skip the X400 series. Those familiar with the smartphone space know that Chinese manufacturers are known to skip iterations with the number "4" as it is considered unlucky in Chinese mythology.
While the listing doesn't reveal any specifications, rumours have already started to pour in. For starters, the Vivo X500 and X500 Pro are expected to feature the upcoming Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset manufactured on TSMC's 2nm process. Battery-wise, both phones could be fueled by 7,000mAh+ batteries with 100W fast charging.

Besides, the smartphone is rumoured to arrive with a slightly higher 144 Hz refresh rate and a new LOFIC sensor on the Pro. The latter could improve the dynamic range of photos.
Since the phones have already started showing up in official tech databases, it suggests that Vivo has already finalised key details about the smartphones. The Vivo X300 series launched in October 2025, and we expect the X500 series to launch around the same time in 2026.
Considering there's still over five months left before the launch, more details about the upcoming smartphones should surface as we inch closer to launch, so stay tuned.
